Test Text File Update
This can be used to test if the operations declared in a “Text File Update” will be performed as intended.
In order to execute the test operation the following steps must be taken:
- Select a previously created “Text File Update” file.
- From the context menu select the “Test” option.
- A Windows Installer type dialog will appear.
- On this window push the [Browse ] button to select a file upon which the update operations specified in the selected “Text File Update” file will be performed. The resulted file will be identical with the one normally obtained after the installation of the package.
If you want to include in the project the file on which the test is made make sure that its content is in the original, unmodified state. Therefore it is recommended not to make the test directly on the file. Instead, for testing purposes only, use a copy of the file.
